Applications and Forms:

Coming soon...

In its commitment to further the education of the Sacramento legal community, SLSA conducts at least one, if not two, nine-week Beginning Legal Secretary Courses per year. The courses include one night of class per week (two hours per night) and are designed for the legal secretary-to-be with little or no experience but who are currently working in a law office or law-related office, or the experienced secretary needing refresher courses. The courses are instructed with the use of the Law Office Procedures Manual, which is written by members of LSI and published by The Rutter Group. The courses cover: Introduction to the Law Office; Legal Citations; Roles of the Legal Personnel; Calendaring and Time Posting; Preparation and Service of Legal Documents; Court Systems/Structure/Rules of Court; Legal Terminology; and Statutes of Limitation, Timetables.

The 2010 Beginning Legal Secretary Course will likely begin in the fall of 2010. Details will be posted here when available.
